I fell in love for the first time when I was 18. I never fell out. I am still falling. This is the oldest song on the album, written in September of 2020. I was sitting on the porch of a friend’s house at the Jersey shore, noodling around with the melody that would congeal into this song, watching the love of my life talking with her friend, and saw, again, the light in her eyes. Like I said, I am still falling.

This is the second song on the album that includes Luke's string playing and arrangement. It is the first that includes Julie's vocals. One of my favorite moments on the album is when the strings kick in with the acoustic lead after the first chorus. I also love the way the final chorus becomes a bit of a free-for-all. I had imagined that I would head out from the studio while we were recording this song and find a local bar with a rag-tag group of day drinkers that I could corral into the studio to add their vocals. But time is at a premium in the studio and what are the odds of finding a bar in Brooklyn? Wait, what?
